Hey, all!

I made a trip to JoAnn Fabrics to see if I could find some appropriate centerpieces, but didn't have any luck. The Halloween stuff was on sale and the store was full of Christmas decor. Guess Thanksgiving/Fall doesn't have a time slot.

I did get new tablecloths, so hope it looks nice, but won't be the Martha-Stewart-design that Andrea and Bevin could do.

Have a good week.

Ann's (you met her at the library) husband was a marathon runner for 20 years and still is a triathlete. She says you need to go to a sports dr and he/she will fit you with orthodics to put in your running shoes. Your knees should not hurt, she says that could be serious trouble. Check into that - I like your knees.

Good. Everything else should be there tomorrow by end of day. How is everything going? Settling in?

BTW, have a look at the attached. If you know anyone in arts, culture,
publishing, or spin-off industries (printing? waitressing in the
theatre district? art supply store?) they should be afraid, very
afraid. I think it's worthwhile getting politically involved in this
election. We'll talk. (Maybe something on You Tube would mobilize
against the Conservative assholes.) See also:

We are having a lovely time - but getting a little weary. Today was lovely and we spent most of it on our own (except when we were on the coach with the thirty americans and only 2 other Aussies). The Yanks are mostly alright except the 7 New Yorkers who bitch about everything, including each other!

How's Jolly doing? Not pining away we hope. Please remember to take good care of yourselves. What are your plans for Tuesday night 21 October? Will we get to see you?

Please let us know that you are receiving these messages - haven't had a reply since Paul's on day 2.

Sunday 23 November

Yesterday I was standing in the kitchen when I saw a magpie go strutting past the sliding door, having a good sticky beak at everything. Then it hopped up on one of the chairs and I was watching Willis (who woke up on one of the other chairs) to make sure she didn't attack the maggie. When the bird hopped to one of the other chairs Willis rushed over to the sliding door, banging on it and her face saying "Let me in there's a great big feathery thing out here with long pointy bits and I'm scared". So I let her in and she pretended to be all cool and calm by turning her back on the door (once she made sure it was shut) and giving herself those little licks that she does when she's pretending to be cool. Poor Willis - the maggie did have an exceptionally pointed beak though. I think she's missing her cuddles from you - Dad and I just don't measure up. And I'm probably not helping matters by showing her pictures of you with other cats.

You'll love this - last night's bus home was being driven by one of those jerky type drivers and Crazy got off the bus and threw up. It was only a bit but I think she ate some carrots for lunch. Also, she turned round so we could all see the action - gross. I did feel sorry for her though because those jerky type drivers make me feel a bit queasy also. I might have to get the next bus while he's on this shift.

So I hope you weren't eating anything nice and disgusting (like those cakes you took a photo of) while you were reading this.

Goodness me look at the time - I must go and try and look industrious.

Good morning. We had an uneventful weekend, spent mostly indoors watching the snow flurries by the fire. Actually, it melted as it hit the ground, so we don't have snow cover yet. It is gray and winter like though.

We met Kyle for lunch at Bonfire on Saturday. He told us about his Halloween costume and parties. He was someone from Dazed and Confused, a movie I know nothing about, and had a great time.

We went to iHop for breakfast on Sunday. Their pancakes are certainly more dessert than breakfast. I did some shopping on Sunday afternoon and got the green vest that Jade liked.

OK. I have to work now anyway.

I just bought a fruit drink from downstairs – it’s flavour is Blood Red Orange and Ginseng. I was lured into the purchase by the name (Grassroots – so I thought it was organic) but when I got upstairs the print of ingredients on the label was so small I had to get the magnifying glass out. Turns out to be just another fruit drink (although it does taste nice). So my point is this – what’s the use of printing ingredients on the label if people can’t read them easily?
